How it Works
If you’d like to enrol your dog in Doggy Day Care, we first ask that you register with us. The questions are very simple, easy to answer and will give us important information, like whether your dog is neutered and vaccinated. This will help us to determine whether your dog is suitable for dog day care. It is important to note we do not take entire males into our daycare and for health and safety reasons we cannot guarantee that every dog will be accepted but we will always do our best to accommodate each and every pet.
Pop into our shop and complete the registration form with us. After we’ve accepted your completed registration form we will contact you to arrange a visit to Doggy Day Care. We like to meet all potential guests prior to enrolment. This allows us to assess the individual needs of your pet, as well as allowing you to see our facilities and feel confident in the knowledge that your pet is in safe hands. Here we will discuss day care slots for your dog and also payment.
Arrival/Departure
We will discuss your needs regarding arrival and departure but rest assured one of our team will be there in the morning to answer any questions as you drop off your dog and upon pick up one of our team will be there to tell you all about the day your dog has had. Please assure you stick to agreed arrival and departure times and let us know if you are going to be early or late on those odd occasions things crop up.
Criteria
Vaccinations must be up to date and dogs must also have the Kennel Cough Vaccine.
Dogs must be sociable and non aggressive towards people and other dogs.

Emmi-Pet Teeth Cleaning
Emmi-pet Teeth Cleaning
Having qualified emmi-pet technicians in our team means we are more than prepared to look after your dogs oral hygiene and answer any questions you may have about the process.
At Barkberry Yard we strive to help you keep your dog healthy and happy and believe that emmi-pet should play an important part of this.
We believe that the emmi-pet is the perfect way to keep your dogs mouth and teeth in tip top condition.
The Problem
When food particles & bacteria accumulate on your dog’s gumline plaque is formed (a sticky, colourless film that covers teeth when not cleaned). Combined with saliva & minerals, it transforms into tartar (hardened plaque). This causes gum irritation & leads to an inflammatory condition called gingivitis. Remember that oral hygiene is directly linked to heart health so keeping your dogs mouth healthy should be a priority.
The Solution
The Emmipet’s ultrasound waves are transmitted via each wet toothbrush bristle to the toothpaste, creating millions of micro-bubbles that penetrate deep below the gumline & into the smallest gaps between the teeth & gum pockets. Bacteria, food remains, plaque & “dog breath” (which is the leading sign of periodental disease) are removed. It also increases the blood flow to the gums to heal wounds & stop bleeding. It is estimated that by the time they are 2 years old, 80% of dogs begin to show signs of oral disease.
The Emmi-pet toothbrush it is a gentle & gradual method of removing tartar & bacteria from your dog’s teeth & gums & needs to be used for a number of sessions in order to thin the tartar & bacteria to make it safe to flick the tartar off the teeth but Importantly, from the very first use, the ultrasound is killing the bacteria in the mouth! Killing the bad bacteria in the dogs mouth even if they do still have tartar build up will mean a fresher breath!
